About Us

St. Saviour’s N.S. was founded in 1975 as a progressive school with a reputation for outstanding academic excellence. We are a co-educational primary school catering for children aged 3-13 yrs, with a Catholic ethos. The aims and objectives of St. Saviour’s is to celebrate the uniqueness of each child, with specialist staff providing learning for both special needs pupils and gifted children so that all children reach their full potential. Our Curriculum includes: Irish, English, Maths, S.E.S.E., S.P.H.E., Art, Drama, Music, PE and Religious Education. We also use Special programmes to cater for the development of the whole child eg: Circle Time, Rainbows, Incredible Years, Friends for Life etc. St. Saviour’s works in collaboration with many outside agencies such as: Waterford School Completion, St. Saviour’s Parish Centre, Ballybeg Community Development Project, Barnados, BRILL and the many sports clubs that are in the area. As our School is located within close proximity of W.I.T. pupils are lucky enough to participate in programmes conducted on the college campus eg; Science for fun, CALMAST (maths & Science). Our School consists of two building – The Junior Building and the Senior Building. The Junior Building houses :4 Mainstream classrooms, The Early Start Unit, Breakfast Club Room, Learning Support Rooms, Admin offices , PE hall and an ASD Unit. The Senior Building houses 11 mainstream classrooms, 6 learning support rooms, PE Hall, Library and Computer room. The school currently employs 50 adults including Teachers, SNA’s, Secretary, Caretaker, Bus Escort, Librarian and cleaners.
